How do I account for the product inventory used during a spa treatment?Updated 3 months ago
We have created FREE product codes to subtract products given away to professionals and for products used during spa treatments from the location's inventory. The codes are:
- Bloom Studios:
bloomfree
- Indie Studios:
indiefree
These codes are specifically for processing free products to accurately track inventory and account for items used during spa treatments. They also help account for any complimentary products given to clients.
Best Practices for Spa Therapists:
As we discussed, the best way for spa therapists to handle free product inventory is to process it separately from the spa customer's checkout. Here's the recommended workflow:
Customer Checkout:
- Help the spa customer pay for their service and any additional products they wish to purchase during their visit.
- Do not include the free products used during the treatment in the customer's checkout.
Processing Free Products:
- Before or after the treatment, once you know which free products will be used, create a separate order in the system using the appropriate free product code (

). - You can do this after each appointment or consolidate the entries and process them all at the end of the day to simplify the workflow.
- Before or after the treatment, once you know which free products will be used, create a separate order in the system using the appropriate free product code (
Why This Matters:
This process ensures accurate inventory tracking and prevents confusion during customer checkout. It also streamlines operations for therapists and ensures the spa has a clear record of product usage for treatments.
