Ingredient & Product Requirements

To ensure the highest quality, sustainability, and ethical production, all Viori products must meet the following standards:

Key Ingredients

• Longsheng Rice Water or Longsheng Rice Powder
  Every Viori product must include our signature Longsheng rice water or rice powder, inspired by Red Yao traditions.

Products and processes must meet the following certifications:

• Leaping Bunny Certified – 100% cruelty-free.
• Vegan International Certified – No animal products or by-products.
• Fair Trade Factory Certified – Ethical labor and sourcing practices.
• RSPO Certified – Responsible sourcing of palm-based ingredients.
• ISO 22716 Certified – Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Carbon Neutral Certified – Commitment to reducing environmental impact.
• Think Dirty Rated 0 – Ensuring product safety and transparency.

General Product Requirements & Values

Clean, Plant-Based Ingredients

• Every ingredient must come from a plant and be traceable to its specific source.
• Ingredients must rank between 1-3 on the EWG Skin Deep List.
  • Exception: Ratings up to 5 are acceptable for allergies, immunotoxicity, or use restrictions, but never for cancer or developmental/reproductive toxicity.

Formula Standards

• pH Balanced (5.5) – Gentle and suitable for all hair types.
• Color-Safe – No ingredients that damage or strip hair color.
• Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Phthalate-Free – Free from harsh or harmful chemicals.
• No Prop 65 Ingredients – Avoids known toxins.
• No Petroleum or Non-Plant-Based Synthetics
  • Exceptions: Allowed only if the alternative is safer or more sustainable than natural options.
• Scent Standards
  • Must be considered natural.
  • Rated 0 on the Think Dirty App.
  • Must pass IFRA standards and Sephora Clean+ Standards.
• Safe for Hair Extensions – Formulated to protect hair extensions.
• No Sodium Benzoate + Citric Acid or Ascorbic Acid Together – To prevent unwanted reactions.

Sustainability Standards

• 100% Plastic-Free Packaging
  • Applies to primary and secondary packaging, shipping materials, tape, bottle seals—everything.
• 100% Vegan Certified
  • No animal by-products (e.g., shellac, beeswax).
  • Adheres to V-Label Standards or similar vegan certifications.
• 100% Cruelty-Free
  • Leaping Bunny pledge signed by Viori and all ingredient suppliers.
• Fair Trade Ingredients
  • At least 20% of ingredients by weight must be Fair Trade Certified.
  • Ingredients must be responsibly and sustainably sourced.
  • Palm-based ingredients must be RSPO Certified.
